Baroque Bomber

I think of a bomber jacket being a quintessentially “cool” garment because I saw both members of I Don’t Know How But They Found Me wearing them with effortless aplomb and I wanted that level of cool for myself. I looked to brands such as Johnny Was, Kosho & Co., and independent designers for inspiration. I chose a muted Baroque print reminiscent of the “moody floral” trend and added “sporty” details like a baseball collar and exposed zippers.

I had a “happy accident” with the shell. The print on the canvas twill didn’t handle heat treatment and ended up with white creases. I decided to go with it and threw it back in the dryer on high heat and ended up loving the result. I think it’s my favorite jacket and I get compliments every time I wear it.
